According to EU Law all rental property in England and Wales will require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
from October 2008. These assessments must be carried out by fully qualified
and accredited Energy Assessors. If you are selling your home, the EPC is a mandatory part of the Home Information Pack (HIP). This is an EU directive in compliance with the Housing Act 2004 and the HIP Regulations 2007. An EPC will tell you how energy efficient your property is and the assessment can only be carried out by an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA).
